Striped Socks

Nobody has posted on here for ages...and since I have a related project currently underway I thought this was a good place to post - just in case anyone ever checks it!  I had a whole bin full of leftover bits of sock yarn in a variety of colours and quantities.  And, I have a fairly large demand for hand-knit socks...so I decided that while I am in Florida this year, I would take all those bits with me and make them into socks.  Of course, this project lends itself to striped socks.  So I began.....here is the first pair I made....
My plan is to finish six pairs and then send notices via e-mail to the people who are usually looking for socks.  I will offer them up for bidding...first come...gets first choice.  I won't post any photos until I have given away each pair.  This is happening on my own blog squeegieandtaffy.blogspot.com.  I have completed the first six pairs and five of them were chosen by various people.  Strangely - this pair, which I really liked, is still available - nobody chose them.  Some of my regular sockaholics didn't realize that they could get a pair for free...so didn't notify me.  I am having so much fun doing this, I now have five pairs in the stash.  As soon as I finish the pair I am working on I will be starting a new Sox Giveaway.  I'll post a picture each day of the previous six pairs...and see if anyone is still reading this blog....if they are, they are welcome to join in the Giveaway.

Striped Sock Sirens,

What a great idea! Loved reading about your plans and viewing the completed pairs of socks.

All the best with your fundraiser for the National Inclusion Project!

Hey, y'all! How about getting together for NIP again? Posted this on fb just a few moments ago...

It's been a while since the last SSS fundraiser for the NIP and I personally think it's time to start dyeing yarn once again. We're looking for folks who may be interested in participating, either by knitting/crocheting/felting/or otherwise creating an article or two and (conversely) for folks who are potential customers/donors for such an event... Also seekingr suggestions on articles to make and/or ones that you would be interested in purchasing... :)
